Day 5 Lazy Sunday Reflections & Maybe Work

If you had to sum up your life philosophy in one sentence, what would it be?

My life’s philosophy is if the universe is electric fields and humanity it’s self uses electricity in the brain. Follow the path of least resistance in all that you do. If that boils down to not working on a Sunday then let it be so. Not only is not working on Sunday a good thing to do but the Bible endorsed it.

This all said I might chuck a few things into the gallery and work on some gallery maintenance. Metadata is still all out of whack and I need to do some fixing of categories. I still have yet to figure out access control but since this is a public library with a massive gamut of content ranging from General-Mature. Mature content is marked as such. If you are under 18 do your part and be responsible and stay in your lane. In other words be accountable and manage your own content use in this library. We do plan to place basic age controls at some point but it’s not a priority and we outright refuse to collect IDs. Once a proven and free to use ZKP (Zero knowledge proof) becomes widespread, standardized, and easy to use without infringing on privacy and meeting the EFF (Electronic Fromtiers Foundation) guidelines for proper adult authentication in a world where …

WE DONT NEED ANY OF THIS GARBAGE!!! ZKPS THE WHOLE LOT! I remember back in the days when schools and parents bought NetNanny and used things like Shelterbelt and Novell Netware to manage content use.

This is one independent library that says “NO. We will not partake in the government nanny statism.”

Yes. We agree kids don’t belong browsing nature catalogues. At the same time no library should be forced to collect personal identifying information without having a client business relationship.

I don’t know you (reader). You don’t know me (claim to know me all you want. You only know my writing and what I’ve disclosed. You don’t know my entire life)

This is what makes the internet pretty awesome. A thin line of anonymity. A layer of “I got to look at something I don’t want people judging me for seeking out” a person who seeks out horror scenes with people being squished is just visitor 392 from presumably unless there’s a VPN involved somewhere in Alberta who spent two hours scrolling through art and then looking at some horror film.

I don’t know his name. I don’t know his address. I don’t know his age. I don’t care to know any of the above three things because then privacy is breached and the very thing that makes fetish libraries appealing is gone. Anonymity.

TAKE NOTE: Don’t try this at home. My library runs such a wide gamut and there is no directly sexual explicit content that allows me to use older self declaration systems and in some areas nothing more than warnings. Speak to your legal counsel before publishing materials. Be prepared to defend in court your position if the time were to ever come.

Subnote: I honestly think this is about reigning in massive producers sites where CSAM is common like XH and other mass porn platforms and professional pornography websites rather than a global blanket rule against fetish libraries and general collections that are fetish heavy (mine is the latter) these laws are not likely to result in litigation against independent creators. Particularly those who specifically tell minors the site isn’t for them and whom restrict access to mature items. The legal landscape is at best a poorly engineered since experiment that will explode in the face of those who set it up.

May all of these state nannyism laws be struck down null and void. They are dubiously constitutional at best at worst they’re an outright government overreach.

I will not be involved in the mass government overreach. I will not involuntarily be forced to become a ID verification cop for every person who touches my site.

NOT MY JURISIDICTION

NOT MY JOB

NOT MY KIND OF SITE (There’s a big difference between porn and fetish art)
