senate: 54 – 44
house: 237 – 139
governors: 28 – 20
This is very good news for people who have legislative priorities such as maintaining disabled benefits and expanding healthcare. Midterms bought about the blue wave we had demanded in 2024 and hopefully come 2028 we will see a similar result. Trust in the GOP has cratered to all time lows as GOP stronghold states have flipped from Republican senators and governors to democrats. Texas and North Carolina being two notable seat flips. Ballots are still being counted and races are not finalized however the margin of error leaves no doubt that this is a landslide victory. Hopefully we will see accountability bought upon Washington D.C. politicians on all lines.
Aaand that’s all for today’s political opinion piece. Now off to werk on the galleries.
UPDATE: 0651 it’s not even 7AM and people are still shouting over the election victory from two days ago at 5:30AM. My sleep is being ruined by all this extra noise since Tuesday around the fucking clock fireworks at night shouting in the morning. Do you all remember that you just elected them. They still actually have to make a functional congress and pass bills. Also some accountability in D.C. would be nice. NOT SURE HOW MUCH IF ANY WORK WILL BE COMPLETED TODAY 😩
Update: 08:28 🥱 yeah I doubt anything is getting done.
Update: 09:12 Expect few to no items today. A work stoppage lasting from Friday through Sunday morning may be lodged tomorrow if issues persist (seriously 23:30 and yall are zooming around with glasspacks launching fireworks and. I’m sure yall are doing 120mph on my tollway. QUIT IT. PEOPLE HAVE WORK TO DO. Nevermind what a road safety and DEATH hazard you people are.)
Update: 12:41 Early Closing – 18 new images and 1 new story published today. I’m exhausted, I’m headachy, and I just don’t feel like working. Why can’t this shit automatically upload and tag its self and sit in a queue waiting for a story to be written!?
